Yes we ask that you call us on the day to check the weather – please call 1 hour before your scheduled departure for all scenic flights, and 90 mins (1.5hrs) prior to the Siberia Experience.
If your flight is cancelled due to poor weather conditions you will have the option of re-booking for another time or receiving a full refund.
Our routes are planned and flown by our pilots to provide just as many photo opportunities and amazing views from both sides of the aircraft.
Your pilot will allocate your seating due to specific weight and balance requirements which is dependent on the aircraft and operational requirements. We take into consideration couples, families and groups and where possible keep them together.
All aircraft are equipped with heaters that can be operated by the pilot if required.
During the flight your normal clothes are fine, with enclosed footwear recommended but not required. The temperature is generally a few degrees celsius cooler in Milford Sound than in Wanaka. Bringing a warmer outer layer and water proof layer is recommended.
Your camera and sunglasses are a must. Insect repellent and sunscreen(sandflies) is a good idea if you are landing in Milford.
You are more than welcome to leave your cell phone on during your flight. However the majority of our flights are outside cell phone reception, including Milford Sound.
