Qualmark enviro-gold Award
January 12th, 2011
Southern Alps Air has gained a Qualmark enviro-gold Award – recognizing its high standards in environmental practises.
Southern Alps Air is:
• the only Tourist Flight Operators in New Zealand to be awarded enviro-gold
(Air NZ has enviro gold but they are Transport category)
• The only tourist activity provider in Wanaka and the Southern Lakes District to be awarded enviro-gold.
“All businesses carrying the qualmark logo must meet standards for environmental practices”, says Qualmark chief executive Geoff Penrose “with the awards recognizing top performers in this area.”
SAA was first Qualmark endorsed in 2003 and through annual assessment has retained it’s quality status as one of New Zealand’s leading Tourism businesses licensed to carry the Qualmark – New Zealand tourisms official mark of Quality and now are the only Tourist Flight operators in New Zealand who have the enviro-gold endorsement.
Anne & Paul Cooper /Owner Operators – Comment
“We are really excited about the award and although it’s been a team effort we would particularly like to thank Kelli for all her time and dedication to the project.
As a company we are very conscious of the impact tourism has on the environment and know that we have to do whatever we can to protect that environment because that’s what visitors come here for. Not only is this fantastic for Southern Alps Air but for all tourism operators in Wanaka.”
